My sympathies to his family. I knew Champ from Sparks. I worked there for a couple of years and got to know him but he worked several years with my dad Leroy in maintenance.  I work for Greenwood Walmart and ran into him quite often there. He was always so kind and funny and he never failed to ask about my dad and wanted me to tell him hi.
 I will sure miss seeing him around the store. Prayers for you all. 

I will definitely miss seeing Robert (dad) very much. He was a wonderful man and was always so funny. God bless you Rose (mom), Bert and family. I will keep you wrapped in my prayers. 💗 I love ya'll very much. 💗

So sorry to hear of Robert’s passing. I worked many years at Sparks alongside Robert, and he was a great guy. Always willing to go the extra mile! Prayers for the family🙏

I have so many great memories with the Champion family.  Bob was a special guy and made sure all the kids had fun but had to behave. Sending my thoughts and prayers to you all. 

I will certainly miss seeing Robert at church.  He was a fixture there when he was healthy!  And always had a smile on his face!  Rest In Peace my friend and I will see you when I get there!

I worked with Bob for many many years at Sparks.  He would help anybody do anything.  He was a kind gentleman.  But he was as ornery as the day is long.  He loved to come up behind me and whistle real loud and scare the pants off of me.  I was always proud to call Bob my friend.  Sorry for your loss Rose.  Rest in peace Bob.

Mr. Champion is survived by his wife, Rose Champion; two daughters, Cynthia Gayle Barton and husband, Rodney of Greenwood and Roberta Ann Johnston and husband, John of Van Buren; one special daughter, Danielle Matheus of Greenwood; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, James Champion.
