Sandra Lee Palmer beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at the age of 84. Born on February 26, 1942, in Monroe, Oklahoma, she lived a life defined by kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family. She was the heart of every gathering, known for her warm smile, gentle wisdom, and the way she made everyone feel welcome and cared for.
Sandra was an accomplished educator, and she devoted her life to guiding and encouraging others through the power of education. Her passion for learning was evident from a young age, graduating as valedictorian of her high school class, an achievement that foreshadowed a lifetime of excellence and service. She attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in education. Sandra was an educator at Greenwood High School for 26 years and her generosity and compassion touched countless lives, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She devoted her life to her family and took great joy in the simple moments — sharing meals, telling stories about teaching, traveling, and celebrating holidays surrounded by the people she loved most. Sandra was an active member of First Baptist Church and her Sunday School class, where she made lifelong friends that will miss her dearly.
Sandra is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dan Palmer; son, Greg Palmer and wife, Michelle; granddaughters, Haley and husband, Matthew and Landrey and fiancé, Cameron; nieces, Donna Prock and husband, Kenneth and Carol Allen and several great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Pearl Andrews; her brother, Burl Andrews; sister, Frances Carman; nephew, Rick Andrews and niece, Sharon North.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, May 30 at Greenwood First Baptist Church with a private family burial following at Liberty Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing and visitation will begin at 10 a.m. before the service on Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Matt Palmer, Cameron Walderns, Jeff Turner, David Passen, Ric Lunsford and Rusty Tarver.
