Theodora (Theo) Patton of Hartford, Arkansas passed quietly away on January 26, 2016. Over her 92 years, she served in many capacities, including business administration and cook, but more than any of those, she was a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was born Theodora Sanchez on September 1, 1923, in Belen, New Mexico, where she lived for much of her life. She was one of ten children of Alfred and Carlotta Sanchez, and she loved New Mexico dearly. She married Milton Patton in 1959, and they lived in the Philippines, California, and eventually settled in Arkansas.
Together they had three sons: Tom Patton of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Rick Patton of Midland, Arkansas; and Tim Patton of Denison, Texas. She has two daughters-in-law, which she always treated more like the daughters she never had: Amy Patton of Fort Smith Arkansas, and Connie Patton of Denison Texas. She has 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Patton of Austin, Texas, Bruce Patton of Oahu, Hawaii; and Madalyn Wilmoth of Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was also a dedicated member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Hartford. Theodora lived a long and happy and loving life, and she holds a special place in the hearts and minds of everyone that knew her.
She is survived by one sister, Pele Romero, of Belen, New Mexico, and all of her children and grandchildren.
Funeral will be held at 10 am Friday, January 29 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood, Arkansas with interment at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith.
Family will visit with friends from 5-7 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
