Thomas Joe “Donut” McClain, Jr. of Jenny Lind, Arkansas passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021 in his home at the age of 61. Thomas was born June 23, 1960 to Mary Sue and Tommy Joe McClain, Sr. He was an employee of ABB Baldor and was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Sue Perkins; maternal grandparents, Grace and Clifford Griffin; paternal grandparents, Bertha Mae and Arthur McClain and his brother, Erick Joe McClain.
Thomas was an avid fan of NASCAR, dirt track racing, the Arkansas Razorbacks, St. Louis Cardinals and the Dallas Cowboys. He was a storyteller, often regaling family with tales of his childhood. He was a proud member of the Razorbacks Men’s Softball Team.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Suzi; his parents, Tommy Joe and Debby McClain; his children, Bridget Douglas of Fort Smith, Stacey (Josh) Pickle of Greenwood, Bryan (Bethany) McClain of Fort Smith, Jordan Gray of Kansas City, MO and Kady Holmes of Bentonville; six grandchildren, Kylea Jo Pickle, Kadence Douglas, Lincoln, Kennedy and Oliver McClain and Robin Gray; his sister, Wanda Gibbs of Mansfield; his brothers, Johnny McClain, Derek (Ashley) McClain both of Jenny Lind, Gerry Don (Amber) Vaughn of Greenwood and Travis (Machelle) Vaughn of Pocola; his lifelong friends, Randy Clark, Kent Ridener and Tony Crockett and his numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, November 4 at Jenny Lind First Baptist Church with burial at Steep Hill Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Wednesday from 2 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Damien McClain, Brayden McClain, Joshua Vaughn, T.C. East, Gerry Don Vaughn, Jonathan Morgan, Bryson Szczerba and Chance McClain. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Razorbacks Men’s Softball Team.
