

Thomas Grady Spicer, 76, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 in Fort Smith. He was born July 18, 1941 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He graduated Northside High School in 1959. He married Virginia Smith in September 1960, they were married 56 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1960 to 1964 and was stationed in San Antonio, Texas. He attended the University of Arkansas from 1966 to 1968, receiving a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Transportation. He worked with various trucking companies, traveling to multiple states as a terminal manager and established new terminals for various companies. He returned home to Arkansas in 1977, finally retiring from Tyson Foods in 2006. He enjoyed traveling, photography, fly fishing and his time on the lake.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, July 27 at Greenwood First Baptist Church with burial at Big Sandy Cemetery in Huntsville at 2 p.m., under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Wednesday from 2 – 8 p.m. at Chateau on the Greens, 10560 So. Hwy. 96, where the family will visit with friends from 6 – 8 p.m.
He is survived by his son, Sean Spicer and wife, Angie of Lavaca; daughter, Wanda Mooney of Fort Smith; one brother, Bill Spicer and wife, Joan of Fort Smith; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert C. and Billie Ann Spicer and his wife of 56 years, Virginia Spicer.
Pallbearers will be Joey Mooney, Clay Mooney, Kelly Moore, Pat Moore, Chris Taylor and Dale Shearburn. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Spicer, David Benham, Darrel Benham, Jay Benham, Jim Moore and Mike Moore.
