Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her faith, deep love of family, her strength, and the warmth she brought to everyone around her. Jean had a remarkable ability to always remain positive and was known for her quick wit. Though she stood only 5’1”, she was strong as an ox. She endured many hardships throughout her life which helped her become a survivor.
She spent most of her life in Barling, Arkansas, and dedicated more than 40 years of service to Whirlpool Corporation. Jean loved her family and friends fiercely, always making time to be present in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She never missed an event or ballgame. She was known affectionately to many as “Grandma” and “Mama Jean.” She left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Jean also had a love for travel and adventure. In her later years, she especially enjoyed exploring new places with her brother Harold and sister-in-law Sharlette.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Dorothy Noland; her husband, William Tichenor; her sister, Juanita Taylor; and her brother, Aubrey Noland.
She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Peters and Amanda Coffman (husband, Russ Coffman); her granddaughter, Caitlin Rogers (husband, Deric Rogers); her grandson, Cannon Coffman; and her great-grandson, Luke Rogers. She is also survived by her brother, Harold Noland (wife, Sharlette), as well as many nieces and nephews who were proud to call her Aunt Jeanie. Along with Don Tichenor, Steve Tichenor, and Phyllis Lueken.
Serving as pallbearers will be Russ Coffman, Deric Rogers, Doug Noland, Charley Noland, Jim “Lumpy” Noland and Terry Wallace. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Noland, Cannon Coffman, and Luke Rogers.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Mercy Hospice for their love, compassion and support, especially Shari, Jessica, Sylvia and Hannah.
