

Alvin Middleton Sheller, June 30, 1915-March 8, 2011. Alvin lived a very active and full life. He was born at the Historic House on The old Meadowland Diary property on Powell Blvd. to Myrtle Bell (Middleton) and Le Roy Sheller on June 30, 1915.
He and his brother Rollie were raised on the Sheller Farm off of Powell. Believe it or not; The Sheller home, was the old Feed Store across Powell from the home he was born in . He moved down the street several blocks. Berry and Potato Fields helped them get through the Great Depression.
A graduate of Gresham High School in 1933 - Then off to Oregon State College. He and his wife Grace of 74 years met at Oaks Park Roller Rink - We never found out who tripped who! They were married on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 1936.
World War II called Al to service from w1942 to 1945 in the U.S. Navy, rank; Chief-Seabee units.
Alvin a FRIEND of the outdoors enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and traveling the USA with his wife Grace and family.
Alvin is survived by Grace, his loving wife of 74 years, sons, Jim and Jerry, 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
