

Anita Lorain Zimmerman, 83, passed away in Gresham, Oregon on July 21, 2019. She was born on August 13, 1935 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Floyd James and Dorothy (Strawn) Cowart. She graduated from Gem State Academy in Nampa, Idaho.
Anita married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Lyle Zimmerman in June of 1975. They were married until his passing on May 23, 2018.
Anita loved to garden. Anita and Bob trained and raced horses, which began as a hobby and turned into a business venture. Prior to that, Anita worked as a waitress at Country Hot Spot, where she met many famous country western artists. She had quite the collection of signed pictures from the celebrities she met over the years!
Anita was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Community. She enjoyed attending camp meetings every year. She was a beautiful, kind and funny woman. Her family will always remember her wonderful sense of humor and green thumb.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Rick Kinsey. She is survived by her children, Randy Cowart (Roxie), Roy Charles Kinsey and Carla Ricardo (Andres); 10 grandchildren and, and many beloved great grandchildren.
A Viewing will be held on Monday, July 29, from 10 am to 1:15 pm. A Funeral Service will be held immediately following the viewing at 1:30 pm, with a reception to follow. Anita will be laid to rest with Bob at Willamette National Cemetery.
