Arlene moved to Oregon in 1943. She had been a long time east Portland area resident. Arlene married Thornton Sayers on June 30, 1938 in Youngstown, New York. Mr. Sayers died in 1995.
Arlene was a cook for the Reynolds School District. Hobbies included gardening, traveling, cooking and baking.
Survivors include her son, Michael Sayers, of Littlestown, Pennsylvania, daughter, Jo Ann Chong, of Portland, OR., sister Marie Myers, of Lockport, N.Y., 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Raymond Sayers.

A memorial service will be on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church located at 2310 SE 148th Ave. in Portland.
