Mrs. Bernice Jean Hayes Eaton

Bernice Jean Eaton, 83 of Gresham OR, passed away Friday, February 25, 2011. She was born on April 18, 1927 in Oceanside, California to Herbert and Dora (Gallup) Hayes. She graduated from High School in Oceanside and worked for many years at Atlantic Richfield until her retirement in 1974. She married Earl Eaton on July 28, 1989 in Reno, Nevada. She was a member of the Rose City Mid-Weekers and the Good Sam RV Clubs. She was an avid gardener and sewer which included quilts and enjoyed traveling which included RV’ing and cruises. She lived for her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Linda Macomb and her parents Herbert and Dora Hayes. She is survived by her husband Earl of Gresham OR; son Michael McCormick (Kathy) of Gresham OR; stepchildren Lori Ruffo of Portland OR, Rob Gilbo of Clackamas OR and Leon Gilbo of Portland OR; grandchildren Scott McCormick of Annapolis MD, Christian McCormick of Marysville WA, Tamera Elmer, Colette Macomb and Kerry Macomb of Portland OR; great grandchildren Jolynn Elmer, Kayla Elmer, Allison Elmer and Cole Macomb all of Portland OR and great-great grandchild Emmalynn Elmer.

A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 11:00am at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W. Powell Blvd in Gresham. Private interment will take place at Douglass Cemetery.
