Doris was born on August 16, 1924 in Redmond, Oregon and was the daughter of John and Hallie (Rader) Luelling. She graduated from Redmond High School and attended nurses training. On August 7, 1944 she married James Russell in Redmond and in 1950 they moved to East County.
Doris worked as a bookkeeper for 25 years at the Portland Women’s Clinic. She retired in 1985.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, water skiing and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed watching Bull Riding and traveling with her childhood friend.
She is survived by her daughter, Paula Smith of Gresham, sister, Barbara Bollin of Medford and 4 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Her husband and her son, James Russell l Jr. both preceded her in death.
