

In 1956, Donald graduated from Franklin High School in Portland. He earned his Masters Degree in Fine Arts at Portland State University. Donald served his country in the United States Air Force from 1957-1961. He was a High School art teacher in Medford for over 30 years.
Donald grew up in East Portland, Sandy and Gresham areas. He lived most of his life in Medford Oregon. For the last 5 years, he has resided in Lake Oswego, Oregon near his family. He belonged to the Church of the Nazarene. Donald enjoyed art projects, including bronze sculptures and sand castings, as well as reading and studying scripture. After moving to Lake Oswego for his retirement, he was a daily inspiration to many he lived with at Greenridge Estates.
Surviving family are his son Kenneth Sandblast (Angela) of Lake Oswego, OR. and two grandchildren (Reed and Kenna), and his daughter Kellie Stame (Steven) and three grandchildren (Julia, Reese and Madelynn) of Rancho Palos Verde, CA.. Surviving siblings include two brothers, Terry Sandblast of Gresham, OR. and Michael Sandblast of Tacoma, WA., and two sisters, Janet Trapp of Aloha, OR. and Judy Sams of Southern Oregon
A funeral service will be on Monday, March 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.
At Bateman Carroll Funeral Home located at 520 W. Powell Blvd. in Gresham, Oregon. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham, Oregon.
