Donna was an alumni of Benjamin Franklin High School in Portland, OR & Northwest Bible College in Minot, ND. As a homemaker, caregiver, and school teacher, the importance of family and human connection were paramount to Donna. She was the daughter of Lyle & Nina Foltz; sister to Mary (Foltz) Deller; wife to LeRoy Byre; mother to Dina (Mark) Dexheimer and Lyle (Sarah) Byre. Donna loved crafts, quilting, nature painting, children's ministry, church, recipes, humor, traveling and supporting Christian missions. The tragedies that Donna overcame, through her Faith in Christ, made her an incredibly strong woman and an inspiration to others. Many former students have commented how “Mrs. Byre” greatly impacted their lives as their kindergarten teacher. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and everyone who had the joy of knowing her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 13, 2024 at 10:00am at Lynchwood Church of God, 3818 SE 174th Avenue, Portland, OR 97236. Refreshments to follow.
