Dorothy Woods

Dorothy L. Woods, a long time Gresham area resident, died on January 20, 2012 in Portland, Oregon at the age of 84. She was born on October 9, 1927 in Arvada, Colorado to Floyd and Dorothy (Strawn) Cowart.

Dorothy married Rodney Woods on November 20, 1969 in Medford, Oregon.

Dorothy was a member of the Rockwood Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Hobbies included gardening in her flowers beds and traveling. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Rodney, of Portland, OR., four sons, Robert Hill, of Grants Pass, OR., Bernie Gallentine, of Battleground, WA., Darrell Woods who lives in the Phillipines, and Dean Woods of Portland, OR., two daughters, Karen Thompson, of Portland, OR., and Valerie Woods, Troutdale, OR., brother, Leon Cowart, Spokane, WA., three sisters, Anita Zimmerman, of Portland, OR., Barbara Nicholas, Kuna, Idaho and Cheryl Lindeman, Corpus Christi, Texas, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by a son, James Gallentine.

A memorial service will be on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Rockwood Seventh-Day Adventist Church located at 1910 SE 182nd Ave. Private Burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
