"Sonny" Houck will be missed by his shipmates that served with him and by the crewmembers of the USS Rainier AE5 Reunion Association. He will be honored at our annual 2-Bell Ceremony in October.

We are going to miss you dearly. You were such a loving sweet person. You will never be forgotten.

 You were like a grandpa to me, you were always so sweet to me and my kids. I remember how much you liked kisses!  We will miss you very much!!! _<3

Sonny I loved your stories. You had such a wonderful memory. Oh and the sqare dancing. I wish I could have seen you In action! I bet you rocked it! You are going to be missed dearly. Love you

Sonny Houck had such a special place in our hearts here at Pacifica Senior Living.  He was loved by all of us and will be so missed.  I will miss his sweet smiling face and always waving at me when I walked into his cottage.  Good bye my sweet Sonny, may you rest in peace.

I remember Ed most when he and Janette were stationed at the  Patuxent Navel air station in Patuxent Maryland.  We would drive across the 301 bridge to visit with them.  They knew where the best filet mignon steaks were, and we had a great time eating out, reminiscing, laughing together and just enjoying each others company.    Debbie was just a little girl, and I think they had Lisa and Shawn by then. I remember Tony from back then too.  I loved having them live so close so we could at least see them on occasion.  May his family be comforted in their happy memories of him, and especially during this time of loss, and may he rest in peace until our Lord's soon return.

I love you. You will always be in my heart.

Grandpa, I love you so much!! Im going to miss your smiling face!! For some reason I keep remembering when I was younger, and you use to come visit. You use to take me on road trips with you! There was one time Sonya was with us and at every stop light you would get out and take pictures of the scenery. Lol.. It wouldnt matter if there was cars waiting for us to go.. You said you didnt care you were taking pictures they can wait!! There is another instance where I took you to the bank and i waited in the car for you. Lol.. I see you coming out of the bank and you get in this persons car that is parked right next to me.. You even put the seat belt on before you realized some man was in the drivers seat smiling at you.. These are just a couple moments I have shared with you!! I love you so much grandpa!! Tell grandma hi for me and give her a big high five!!!

Eddy: I remember the Christmas in CA that you were with us. David & Chuck were telling one joke after another & you begged them to stop you were laughing so hard. And immediately said "ok go"... There were lots of good times.. You will be missed tremendously. RIP Edgar Joseph Houck...
