Stuart was born on February 14, 1944 in Walla Walla, Washington and was the son of Edwin M. and Geraldine (Irby) Baker. He graduated from Walla Walla High School and attended Whitman College. Just before his junior year, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Whitman College where he earned his Bachelor's Degree.
Stuart resided in Lebanon.
A graveside service with military honors will be on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Willamette National Cemetery. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
