Evelyn Grace Payton, age 96, of Corbett, Oregon passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024. Evelyn was born May 10, 1928 in Fossil, Oregon to Denny Claud and Pearl Opal (Walker) Clark, their only child.
She married Beuford Payton on July 30, 1948 and they spent some time in Prineville and Hermiston before Beuford was recalled to the Navy and they moved to Portland. While in the service, they spent time in San Diego, San Francisco and Ewa Beach, Oahu, Hawaii. After Beuford retired from the Navy, they moved to Portland and later to Corbett in 1994. Evelyn enjoyed fishing and RV traveling with Beuford.
She is survived by their children; Barbara Hopkins, Edward Payton and Shirley Gainer, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
A funeral service for Evelyn will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home 520 W. Powell Blvd., Gresham, Oregon, 97030.
