

Fredric Ferdinand Siedow Jr, 77 of Portland OR, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. He was born on December 4, 1938 in Sidney, Nebraska to Fred Sr. and Gladys (Christiansen) Siedow. He graduated from Washington High School in Portland, Oregon and served in the US Army Reserve from 1960 to 1965. Fred married Maureen Egner on July 29, 1961 in Portland, Oregon. After her passing in 1987, he married Lyneth Elaine Sweitzer on August 4, 1989 in Portland, Oregon and shared the rest of his life with her. He was a member of First Covenant Church.
Fred owned and operated Fred Siedow Furniture Restoration for 40 years before he retired in 2009. Woodworking was his life, his spiritual gift and he was known throughout the area for his knowledge and skill. A 1980 desk of his was in the Governor’s Mansion for many years and there are numerous pieces on display at Pittock Mansion.
Fred is survived by his wife Lynne Siedow of Canby OR; sons Chris Siedow (Alicia Dunn) of Battle Ground WA, Dan Marshall of Colorado and Mark Hall (Barbara) of Salem OR; daughters Julie Lutz (Dave) of Gresham OR and Allison Drake (Scott Begovich) of Canby OR; sister Sonya Utseth (John) of Oro Valley AZ and grandchildren Jordan, Morgan, Ashley, Kayli and Sofi.
A Celebration of Fred’s Life will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at First Covenant Church, 107 NE 45th Avenue, Portland OR 97213. Private interment at Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland, Oregon. Arrangements entrusted to Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association at www.apdaparkinson.org as donations in Fred’s name.
