

Neva Alexander passed peacefully in her sleep Tuesday September 22, 2015. Born Geneva Belle Perkins in Cairo, Georgia, December 11, 1925, to Isaac B. and Ethel A. Perkins. Married to Jack (Corbett Jackson) Alexander, February 24,1945, until his death in August, 2012. Together they raised three children Mike (Sharon), Dan (Vernita) and Susan Craven (Larry) and leave eleven grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces and nephews that loved their Auntie Neva.
Neva was loving sister; Edrie (Maxwell), Eloise (Jones), Frances (Spaulding), Jenny (Pomer), David Perkins, surviving sister Kay (Carrington).
Neva was wife; devoted to Jack for 67 ½ years, together living life and making memories with their family and many friends.
Neva was Mom; always there for her children.
Neva was beloved Aunt, Grandma and friend hosting holidays and parties with her Southern hospitality. Think of Neva and you think of fried chicken, potato salad, and apple pies.
She enjoyed arranging flowers for the church, playing bridge, sewing and reading. She liked long drives and music. Christmas was her favorite holiday decking the mantel with candles and decorations that Jack was sure would burn the house down.
Neva will be remembered for her sweet smile, blue eyes, gentle humor and beautiful sharing spirit.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home Monday, October 5, at 11:00 am. There will be a private family burial for Jack and Neva at Willamette National Cemetery following the ceremony. Remembrances may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
