Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.batemancarrollfunerals.com for the Hansen family.
Heidi Marie Hansen (née Griessmann) was born to Rudy and Heidi (née Schoch) Griessmann at a historic red cupula penthouse in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on May 8, 1957. The baby sister to brothers Daniel Rudolfo and Tomas Pablo, Heidi delighted her family with her whimsical personality, joyful heart and pure love for everyone she met. At age 6 and 7, being the only girl in a family of two brothers and two male cousins, Heidi began praying for a baby sister! Her prayers were answered just before her eighth birthday, when little Naomi Ruth was born, with whom she shared a special bond through all of life.
When Heidi was 10, her family immigrated from Argentina to Portland, Oregon, where she learned English and plugged into the church youth group at Bible Temple (now Mannahouse). It was here that she sang in the choir, attended camps and outings, and made lifelong and loyal friendships. She graduated from Oregon City High School, attended Beauty School, married and had three children: Jason Paul, Shannon Marie, and Christina Michelle, whom she cherished and adored. Heidi raised Jason, Shannon and Chrissy, with great devotion, and was known for making meal-times fun with creative fruit and vegetable creations like "aunts on a log" or Mickey Mouse pancakes, as well as keeping a swimming pool for summer fun.
Heidi worked her entire career for the Multnomah and Clackamas County Health Clinics, where she loved on children in Pediatrics as a Certified Medical Assistant, retiring in 2014. In 2016, Heidi met and married the love of her life, Jerry Hansen (Air Force, retired). They had seven beautiful years together seeking adventure as they traveled and enjoyed their second home in Arizona. Jerry's sons and grandchildren accepted and loved Heidi as their own, affectionately calling her Oma and grateful for the joy she brought to every occasion. If I could invite you to their home, you would see notes everywhere that read, "I love my Jerry."
Heidi's outgoing, adventurous, and loving nature endears her to everyone who truly knows and loves her best. She enjoyed gardening, swimming, touring in her and Jerry's RV and endless devotion from her dogs, Coconut the Westie-Schnauzer, Cocoa Bug and Heidi, the Dachshunds. She truly lived to celebrate every occasion with friends and family, showing hospitality and preparing special meals for anyone who walked in her door.
After complications from chemo-therapy and a battle with AML leukemia, Heidi finished her earthly life on May 2, 2023, and stepped into the arms of her Lord, Jesus Christ. Heidi loved purely, from the heart, and is survived by her husband Jerry Hansen; son, Jason Paul (and his wife Abby); daughters Shannon Marie (and her partner Nathan), and Christina Michelle (and her partner Mike).
On Heidi's side of the family she is survived by her older brothers Daniel Montar (wife, Kathleen) and Tomas Griessmann (daughter Yohanna), and her baby sister, Naomi Inman (husband Greg); Her extended family who will miss her greatly include her grandmother, Dora Schoch, her aunt Rhodes Kimmel (husband Eddie), her cousins, Nikoalet (daughter Bella), and Peter Griessmann (wife Toni); her niece, Yohanna Griessmann, and nephews Landon (wife Savannah) and Luke (wife Summer) Inman.
Heidi was beloved as "Oma" to her step-son, Mike Rosenau (and his partner Robin) and his children Brandy (sons Nathan and Zachary), Jennifer (children Jacob and Summer) and Katy (son Aren). Heidi's step-son Earl Rosenau (wife, Barbel) and grandchildren Christopher, Grace (children Aaron and Iris), and Daniel.
Special mention of her sister-in-law, Maren Hansen Ward (husband Johnny) of Rapid City, South Dakota, whom Heidi loved and prayed for.
When our mama, Heidi Griessmann, passed in February of 2020, Heidi wrote a "Thank You Card" to her mama that is worth sharing with everyone. It exemplifies her purity of heart through which she could see God's hand in everything (Matthew 5:8).
Thank you so much, Mom!
Thank you for all the times you read me bible stories at night before falling asleep
and praying for me before I fell asleep.
Thanks for all the wisdom you had to share with me about my issues.
Thank for being a good Grandma to my children and for being there when I needed you.
Love you, Mom. I'll see you in heaven soon.
Love, Heidi Jr.
Unbelievably loved and adored by everyone who knew her, 💝Heidi left this life surrounded by family. As my sister by blood and my sister by Christ's blood, I know that “We sorrow not as those who have no hope.” (1 Thessalonians 4:13) We were all honored to love her well as she loved us. I will see you in heaven my dear sister, we are co-heirs to eternal life.
Love you sis, Naomi (Griessmann) Inman
