

Ivan Henry LaHaie passed away on February 7th, 2016, at his home in Portland, Oregon. Ivan was born on June 16, 1927, in Roy, Oregon, to his parents: Oscar and Petronella LaHaie. He was one of six children, and he attended Hillsboro High School and Multnomah College later on in his twenties.
On August 24, 1957, Ivan married the love of his life, LaVaune Yeado. They were married until her passing in June of 1997.
Ivan worked in the Portland Shipyards for many years following graduation. He then began his career as an mechanical engineer with Morrison, Funatake, Inouye, and Associates, from which he retired after 30+ years of service.
Ivan’s faith was an important part of his life. He attended St. Joseph the Worker Parish for over 50 years, and more recently attended St. Therese’s Parish for the past three years.
Ivan was a very active man. He enjoyed tending his garden, senior trips, garage sales, spending time with his grandchildren, and watching the Blazer Games. He will always be remembered for his kind spirit, generosity, and willingness to help others.
Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, and his five siblings. He is survived by his children, Julie Whitish (Glenn), Sandra Landon, and Daniel LaHaie; his grandchildren, Amanda LaHaie, Derek Landon, and Alexandra Whitish; and his great grandson, Draven Lona. He will be missed
A viewing will begin at 9:30 am, with a Recitation of the Rosary at 10:30 am, and Mass at 11 am at St. Joseph the Worker. Interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Portland.
