Luby - Sutton Jr.

Luby carried a strong spirit and a love for life wherever he went. He was known for being someone who was loved by all who had the chance to know him. He had the ability to start up a conversation and make a new friend everywhere he went. A devoted fan of the San Francisco 49ers, he supported his team through and through, never missing a chance to cheer them on.

Luby’s greatest joy came from his family. He is survived by his daughter, Elysia (Jacob); stepdaughter, Jessalyn; his beloved grandchildren, James and Everlee; his mother and step-father, Alice and Greg; and his sisters, Miranda, Janell, Eva, Krystal and Natasha. He is preceded in death by his father, Luby Sr. (Ann). He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 11:00 am at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon.

Before our eyes you grew into a man

Stood on your own and let go of our hands

You had courage, strength and walked with pride

With that quiet fire always burning inside

Moving through life at a steady pace

Our shining light, no one can replace

Your half of our flesh - blood makes us whole

You will forever be cherished in our hearts and soul

And though the moments felt too few

Every single one was a gift with you

One more “see ya later” or “I miss ya”

If time was on our side you’d still be here
