Marilyn Christine Raffaele

Marilyn Christine Raffaele passed away on September 1, 2024 with her family by her side. She had just turned 76 years old.

The oldest of 5 children, Marilyn was born on August 12, 1948 in Portland, Oregon where she lived her whole life. She attended St. Therese Catholic Grade School and Marycrest High School before eventually graduating from Reynolds High School (Class of 1966). In her youth she was an accomplished equestrian, winning numerous awards for raising, training and showing Thoroughbred horses. Along with her family she also bred St. Bernards- a passion that stayed with her her entire life apparent by the numerous family dogs she loved and cherished over the years including Chestnut (“Chesie”), Ruby and most recently Bernadette (“Bernie”).

However her biggest passion was undoubtedly her family who she lived for; especially her 3 grandchildren. She was nurturing, sassy, the life of the party and loved by all that knew her. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 55 years, Mike; her daughter Angela; her son Michael and his partner Katie; and her 3 beloved grandsons Tabor, Kian and Luciano.

A memorial service is planned for Friday, September 27, 2024 at 1:00 PM at St Therese Catholic Church, 1260 NE 132nd Avenue, Portland, Oregon 97230, with a reception to follow at Riverview Restaurant in Troutdale.
