Mary Ann Schmitt

Mary Ann Schmitt, 77, of Portland, passed away on July 24, 2016. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on November 23, 1938 to Theodore and Beatrice (Osbourne) Giroux; Mary was the youngest of four children, Beatrice, Louis and Ted. Mary was married to Arthur Schmitt on April 27, 1957. They raised their four children, Roberta, Candias, Arthur, and William.

Mary enjoyed archery, knitting, crocheting and reading. Her other hobbies included ceramics, Bingo and occasional trips to the Casinio. She was remembered for preparing her children’s favorite food on their birthdays during their childhood. Mary was always open to the opportunity to experience something new, her age was never an issue.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years, her brother, Louie. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Roberta (Bill), Candias, Arthur Joseph, William (Marilyn); grandchildren, Jessica (Rick), Michelle (Jake), Danielle, Derek (Molly), Joel, Arthur Clayton, Ashley, Julie, Samantha, Shannon, Gabriela, Brian, Aaron, Alliah; great grandchildren, Kyra, Logan, Kallie, Antonio, Audrina, and Jolie; and siblings, Ted and Bea. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
