Born and raised in Gresham, Oregon, Michael spent his years building a life centered on family and service. In his recent years he had dedicated himself to caring for his mother, Shigeko Clark, by providing her with daily support. He was a lifelong friend and confidant to his sister Mayumi; always there in times of need.
Michael would often be a kind and understanding ear for his friends to confide in and was willing to assist them at a moment’s notice. He consistently prioritized the well-being of others above his own, offering help and kindness to those around him without hesitation.
Professionally, he found much of his career success in managerial positions in restaurants, including the unique opportunity to attend McDonald's University. He also worked as a real estate broker and studied bookkeeping in college.
The true highlights of Michael's life were his three cherished nieces: Delaney DeWolfe (26), Cassidy Van Meter (23), and Isabella Huffman (18), who filled his days with immense joy and pride. He took special delight in preparing meals for his great-niece and great-nephew, Yumi and Zakai DeWolfe, often crafting their favorite comfort food mac and cheese, which they loved to call "mac and noodles."
Adding to his joyful traditions, Michael had a passion for fireworks, eagerly organizing spectacular displays each year that brought family and friends together in awe and celebration.
He is survived by his father, Douglas Clark; his stepmother, Terri Clark; his mother, Shigeko Clark; his sister, Mayumi Huffman; his nieces, Delaney, Cassidy, and Isabella; his best friend Jeff Botel and numerous others who valued his generous spirit.
