Misawo Takeuchi, 98, passed away in Gresham, Oregon on December 16, 2017. She was born on February 18, 1919, in Fresno, California. She attended Fresno High School and following her graduation, she attended business college.
On January 15, 1950, she married Shiro Takeuchi in Portland, Oregon. Together they had two children. Misawo and Shiro were in the grocery business for many years, and she worked as a clerk at the stores they owned.
Misawo was a lifelong bowler. She also enjoyed golfing, mushroom hunting and gardening.
Misawo was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, her husband, her brother and one sister. She is survived by her daughters, Peggy and Susan Takeuchi; her sister, Akimi Oyanagi; her childhood friend and sister in law, Lucy Takeuchi; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017, at 2:00 pm at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham. Misawo will be laid to rest with Shiro at Willamette National Cemetery.
