Mrs. Orma Ruth Hanberg Robertson

Orma was born on July 12, 1935 in Saskatoo, Saskatchewan, Canada and was the daughter of Percy and Ada (McLean) Hanberg. She was raised and educated in British Columbia and moved to Oregon (East County) in 1954. On November 6, 1954, she married Glenn W. Robertson in Portland.

Orma loved being a homemaker while her children were in school. She took great pride in caring for her family and many friends that needed a helping hand. She also worked in Retail Sales at City Liquidators on and off for 10 years.

“Grams”, “Nanners,” and “Grandma” was an elegant woman who loved, laughed and lived up to the last minute of her life and who wanted those remaining behind to do the same. Her garden of flowers and family were a source of happiness. Orma will always be remembered for giving and taking care of others in their time of need. She will be lovingly missed and remembered for all time.

She is survived by her children: Ronald G. Robertson of Troutdale and Debbie Charpentier of Spokane and brother, Lloyd Hanberg of British Columbia along with 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Her husband, Glenn and daughter, Sheri Macy both preceded her in death.

A celebration of Orma’s life will be on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 11:00 am at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 21, 2011 from 10:00 am – 5:00 m also at Bateman Carroll. Interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery. Contributions may be made in memory of Orma to the Providence Cancer Center. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
