Patrick Leslie Klick, age 60, of Portland, Oregon passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022. Patrick was born April 14, 1962 in Portland, Oregon.
On Thursday, June 30, 2022 we lost another one. Patrick “Packy” Klick who was born on the same day as the elephant and called Packy his twin.
Growing up I had great memories from him and my dad taking me to my first MLB game as we walked Into the Kingdome and Ken Griffey Junior hitting an upper deck Homerun while playing with senior in the Outfield.
We went to numerous seachicken games together where he had season tickets for years and would drive from either Clackamas or Bend to go watch no matter how much I told him the Seahawks weren’t worth the effort nor the money unless the Broncos were up there. We went back and forth talking smack about football.
While he lived with my dad for a period of time he would come home get me and/or my brother and get us to help close down skipper’s restaurant with him where he would then take us to Shari’s for dessert or golfing the next day.
He has battled lifelong various health issues, but finally dementia is how God decided to bring him home.
Like most people in my family they all think highly of Blake. I have been avoiding visiting him for months in the hospital until I found out he wasn’t coming out and time to say goodbye. On Thursday after picking up Blake we went to the hospital to say our goodbyes. We stayed for a few hours and talked to him wife Joanne Klick for hours. We exchanged stories, some of my growing up with him, her being married to him and his multiple stays in the hospital. She made sure I knew providence treated him correctly which I’m glad, I have some friends that work there and I know what kind of people they are so I hope the rest are just like them too and sounds like they were. We got a block away from the hospital where Joanne sent me a message saying he was gone. I think he was waiting until Blake left so he didn’t see him die or for my stubborn ass to finally get up there to say goodbye as I think I was the last one to do so. He was a Catholic believer and because of this I know he is upstairs not suffering anymore.
Even though I stayed away for my own selfish reasons he was surrounded by other people that also cared for him. Mr Hooker, Joanne, David Klick, Paula Wilkinson, Teri Anderson, and many other people called, visited him and were amazing to him and with him. I thank you all for taking care of my uncle Pat the way he should have been.
This is even harder as this is the second uncle I have lost in 2 months and the two closest uncles to me. Just a side note to everyone else in the family, you all are too young to keep dying on me and I’m not ready to say goodbye to anymore people so if you could just prepare yourselves to be around for another 30-40 years I would greatly appreciate it.
Uncle Pat, I know you’re up there and since Heaven is where you for have all the peace and everything holy. this is why they have Bronco TV and not the Seahawks network. Don’t get discouraged, this is heaven you’ll get used to it and enjoy it :)
I love you and go live your best life up there,
