

Ronald Douglas Holley, 66 of Gresham, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013. He was born on March 8, 1947 in Portland, Oregon to Howard and Katie Holley. He was a 1965 graduate of David Douglas High School. Ron later earned a degree in computer programming from Western Business College and received certification in water quality technology from Clackamas Community College. Ronald served in the US Navy from 1967 to 1971 and continued serving in the US Navy and US Coast Guard reserves until 1992. Ron was a water service mechanic for the Portland Water Bureau for over twenty years before retiring in 2002.
He married the love of his life, Shannon, on October 23, 1990 in Cannon Beach, Oregon. Ron was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his wife Shannon Holley of Gresham OR; daughters Kristina Leist and husband Anthony of Milwaukie OR, Tanya Carriker and husband David of Portland OR and Brandy Case and husband Justin of Troutdale OR; grandchildren Shawn Leist, Holley Leist and Cadence Case and several aunts, uncles and cousins in West Virginia.
Ron loved trains, woodworking, bird watching, archery, target shooting and fireworks. He will be best remembered for telling jokes.
A Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W. Powell Blvd in Gresham, Oregon. Contributions may be made as donations to Gresham Relay For Life at http://main.acsevents.org/goto/Ron_Holley or to Legacy Hospice.
