Steven Scott Wallace was born December 12, 1953 in Waltham, Massachusetts to John Gilbert (Gil) and Iris (Onslow) Wallace.
John met Iris when he was stationed in England and they were married in England in 1945. Steven was 6 years old when the family moved to North Hollywood, California where he attended grade school and then attended Grant High School. His senior year he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Washington and then Georgia. He took schooling in radio communications and then was sent to Germany. Not needing another radio man they made him a driver. He was honorably discharged in January 1975 having earned the rank of Specialist 1st Class.
Following the Service, Steven had several jobs and finally landed a job at U-Haul. He met the love of his life, Melody Rogers and married her January 12, 1980 at Buena Vista, CA. They moved to Twenty Nine Palms, CA where Steven got work at a gas station, then Goodyear Tires and also worked at the military base. Michael was born in March of 1984 and Brianne November of 1986. In 1991 the family moved to Portland, Oregon to assist Steven’s mother. He began work for Firestone Tire and Service Center, then as a driver for Greenball tires in 1992 delivering tires all over Oregon. The company downsized in 1999 and Steven became the delivery man for Scholastic Book Fairs delivering all over Oregon and SW Washington. In 2004 He began driving for TCI a wholesale tire company and worked there until 2007. He then worked for Merix as a driver and product hauler. He was diagnosed with Diabetes which disqualified him as a commercial driver so in 2010 he began receiving Social Security disability. In 2016 The family moved to Wittmann, AZ where Steven lived until his passing December 11th, one day short of his 65th birthday.
As a young person Steven enjoyed boating and water skiing on Lake Havasu. With his family he loved to go camping and RV-ing. Steven liked going to the Portland Speedway and enjoyed NASCAR pickup and car racing. He would also enjoy watching live wrestling matches with his grandmother!
Steven was described as a guy who liked to joke a lot. One never knew what might just come out of his mouth. He and Melody joked lots about their relationship and that surprised many around them. Down deep they always knew their love and relationship was secure. Steven worked hard to provide for his family. Sometimes he would take one of the kids on a road trip with him so he could have some special time with them. When Brianne got involved in the band her dad and mom were there to support her and the band by helping with the equipment and being there with her.
Steven is survived by his wife Melody, son, Michael of Wittmann, Arizona, daughter, Brianne of Clermont, Florida, a brother, Clifford Wallace of Conroe, Texas, a niece, Donna Wallace Chase and nephew, Dana Wallace. He was preceded in death by his parents.
