Virginia Lee Yandell

Virginia Hatch was Born in Hood River Oregon to Winefred and Thelma Hatch on December 24, 1939. She attended Odell Grade School through 8th grade and graduated from Wyeast High School in 1957.

Virginia then moved to Portland in 1959, where she briefly lived at the Joan of Arc and eventually moved to an apartment downtown. She began working as a librarian at the Multnomah County Library in 1960, where she worked until she retired in 1978.

Virginia married Glenn Harold Yandell on March 9, 1970. She gave birth to her only child, Michelle Lee Yandell, on August 25th, 1970. When she married Glenn, she also became a stepmother to two children, Glenn Yandell Jr. and Glinda Yandell. Virginia and Glenn were married 34 years until Glenn passed on Nov 11th, 2004.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Michelle Bickford and husband Bobby, her grandson, Christopher Bickford and his wife Jordan, her stepdaughter, Glinda Day, five step grandchildren, Keyna Day, Shadow (Rosie) Day, Anthony Yandell, Dakota Yandell, and Christopher Bohn, and eight step great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, located at 520 W Powell Blvd, Gresham, OR, 97030, United States. The service is scheduled for December 27, 2025, at 1:00 pm with a reception to follow.
