Alan Peterson

Alan Prescott Peterson of Griffin, GA, formerly of Glenview, IL and Metairie and Mandeville, LA, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2011, at the age of 58. Beloved husband of Anita Perry Peterson. Son of Sara Groves Peterson and the late Clifford Snell Peterson of Venice, FL. Stepfather of Jeremy Jenkins (Paige Sawyer) and step grandfather of Riley Claire Jenkins and Carson Doyle Jenkins of Baton Rouge, LA. Brother of Chris Peterson (Gladys Cabanatan) of Jamul, CA and Jean Peterson Schukraft (Jeffrey) of Sarasota, FL. He is also survived by nieces Brittany Smith, Stephenie Smith and Jennifer Perry Rodriguez and nephews Corey Schukraft and Matthew Perry.

Alan received a bachelor’s degree at Miami University, Ohio, a master’s degree at Eastern Kentucky University and his doctorate of education at Oklahoma State University. His career included teaching and coaching tennis at Tulane University and Arkansas College and for the past 17 years at Gordon College in Barnesville, GA.
