

Herbert is preceded in death by his parents, George and Caroline; two daughters, Leean and Deborah; five brothers, Albert, George, Frankie, Robert and August and two sisters, Margaret and Edna Mae.
Herbert (Herb) was born in Jersey City, N.J. on October 14, 1938 to George and Caroline Oswald. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a jack of all trades. He worked as an electrician, boiler operator, welder and plant maintenance in plastics, chemicals, aerospace and shipyards. Herb loved to dance, Patsy Cline music, to build things, play chess, scouting and taking care of family, friends and his wife of 50+ years.
Herbert is survived by his wife, Edna; two sons, George (Pamela) and Edward (Susan); two daughters, Robin (Bryant) and Donna (Donald); three brothers, Eugene, Kenneth and Edward; three sisters, Irene, Kathleen and Charlotte, twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and many more that claimed him as father and grandfather.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Southern Grace Hospice and Palliative Care for their support in his final days.
Funeral services for Mr. Herbert Edward Oswald will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary of Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville.
