

Mrs. Merritt was born April 17, 1932 to the late John and Rosie Mae Hicks. She worked at Spalding Knitting Mills for 23 years, then at Commercial Bank and the Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Merritt was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was everything to her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Roy Merritt.
Survivors include sons & daughters-in-law, John Anthony “Tony” and Judy Merritt, James Richard “Ricky” and Judy Merritt and Timmy Darrell Merritt; grandchildren, James Clifford Fox, Michelle Merritt Reagan, Richard Bryan Merritt, Jonathan Dean Merritt and Tory Merritt; 3 great-grandchildren, Baylynn Merritt, Jerilynn Gradic and Dakota Fox and sister, Lois Hicks Eller. Nieces, nephews and other family also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Marjorie Faye Merritt will be held Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Rev. Terry Butler will officiate. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Friday, March 30, 2012 from 6 – 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
