

He was born July 5, 1944, in Atlanta to the late Albert Vernon and Dorothy Meeks Palmer.
Mr. Palmer, a retired employee of International Paper, served his country in the United States Navy during the Cuban Missle Crisis as well as Vietnam. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife Tomasa Palmer; children, Cecilia Ellema, Lilia Dimeler and husband Craig, Lydia Youngblood and husband Scott, Noel Ellema and wife Carolyn, Anna Maria Palmer Johnson and husband Todd, Evangeline Palmer Farrar and husband Scott, Susan Palmer Davis and husband Tim, sister Brenda Whitley and husband Gene.
Other survivors include seventeen grandchildren.
Funeral mass will be conducted on Monday May 17, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Father Dennis Juan will officiate. Entombment will follow in Westwood Mausoleum.
The Palmer family will receive friends today, Sunday May, 16, 2010, at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
