Robert Dillard McKie Sr

Mr. McKie was born on August 28, 1924 in Abbeville, Ga. He was the son of the late Van Buren McKie and Lillie Mae Bolden McKie. He retired from Tom Foods where he was a route salesman. Mr. McKie was a faithful member of the Crestview Baptist Church for over 50 years. During his service to Crestview he served as chairman of the deacon board, Sunday school teacher, training union teacher, choir member, and brotherhood member. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. McKie was preceded on death by his first wife, Jonnie Floy Henderson McKie and a step-son, Richard Keene.

Survivors include his wife, Ava Keene McKie; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert D. McKie Jr. and Patsy, Jon Wayne McKie Sr. and Joanne; grandchildren, Jon Wayne McKie Jr., Steven Ray McKie and his wife, Kristine, James McKie, and Amy McKie; great-grandchildren, Kathryn McKie, Cooper McKie, and Parker McKie; sister, Gladys Hardin; step-children, Jerrie Wichman and her husband Tom, Kirk Keene and his wife Peggy, and Douglas Keene; 10 step-grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral service for Mr. Robert Dillard McKie Sr. will be held on Sunday December 18, 2011 at 4:00 PM in the sanctuary of the Crestview Baptist Church. Rev. Thomas Hill will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Saturday, December 17, 2011 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
