I am profoundly saddened to here of the loss of Ms. Allhoff.  I was just talking to my mother about how lucky I was to have such an amazing group of teachers in my formative years.  She pushed me hard, but with an amazing kindness and compassion.  She even set me up with a paying art contract upon graduation – painting murals in the hallways of a local elementary school.  In fact, I spent all night trying to find photos of the hallways of Deerfield elementary from 1984/1985.  I searched for yearbooks from junior high and high school.  I searched for pictures of Ms. Allhoff quite literally all night long.  She was an amazing person.  As a TRULY inspiring individual, she always tried her best to expose your best potential.  She will be sorely missed and never forgotten.  My sincerest condolences go out to all who knew and loved her.  My heart breaks knowing that I failed to reach out and try to reunite or speak with her sooner.   I was blessed with a fantastic and truly diverse melting-pot group of wonderful teachers in a plethora of fields and subjects.  I certainly hope that people continue to recognize the value of great teachers and return to a time when they overwhelmingly supported their wonderful efforts.  

Please, remember all the great spirits that helped us find ourselves and helped so much to guide our way.

I have fond memories of Miss Allhoff as my art teacher in elementary school, and again in high school. She was one of my favorite people as well as teacher.

To ms. Allhoff family.I had her for art classes at East Detroit in the early 1970's.She was so sweet,She really helped me to expand on projects i knew nothing about, because of her i was able to maintain all A's. My prayers are with all of you. Linda Zimmerman.

She was my art teacher at Pleasantview Elementary. I remember her kind and patient way of teaching. I still remember some of the projects! She taught medias that I had never been exposed to. Her loving manner helped develop my love for the arts. Thank you for sharing your talents with so many!

I will always remember the wonderful times we shared as we travelled together in Europe, Africa, and Australia.
