Anne Decker was born July 7th, 1948 and passed away August 25th, 2025. She was one of three children born to Frank and Marge Decker. Anne grew up in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, attended Michigan State University and went on to teach the hearing impaired in Lansing and Ingham counties for the next 34 years. After her retirement, Anne moved to Traverse City where she traveled to many countries and often visited Arizona with her second husband Ed Marshall. She loved to paint, quilt, and play golf on the beautiful courses in Northern Michigan. She also spent plenty of time playing her piano and taking art classes, as well as playing Mahjong. Anne was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2018 and fought a courageous battle for many years. Despite her debilitating illness, she continued to find her creative voice, maintained an adventurous spirit and kept her signature Irish wit.
Anne is preceded in death by her mother and father Francis N. Decker and Marjory G. Decker, and her brother Frank F. Decker. She is survived by her sister Kathryn L. Decker, daughter Jennifer (Gary) Witt, son Justin (Nicole) Breard, and leaves behind two grandsons, Miles and Julian Witt.
A committal service for Anne will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 17100 Van Dyke Ave, Detroit, MI 48234.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy https://www.gtrlc.org/donate/memorial-gift/ in memory of Anne Decker.
