Barbara Michalik, nee Houtteman, age 61, passed away on September 9, 2020 at home with her family by her side. Beloved wife of Robert. Loving mother to Sara, Madeline, Emily, and Isabelle. Dear sister to Robert (Joyce), Carol (John) O’Rourke, and Thomas (Jovette). Cherished aunt to Matthew (Kelly), Maureen, Catherine, Rachel, and the late Lauren.
For eight years, Barbara fought a long courageous battle against Ovarian Cancer; her strength never wavering. She peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her husband and four girls. In her younger days, she enjoyed attending concerts, water-skiing, and relaxing on the beach in Caseville. She was a loving woman, devoted to her faith, spending time each day praying. She always found the good in others and expressed gratitude for her blessings. As a devoted wife and mother, she was happiest with her family. Barbara loved spending her days on the water, enjoyed boating and attending her daughters’ high school Cross Country meets. She loved baking sweets for her friends and family. She had a way about her that made others feel loved and special. Although she was taken from us too soon, her memory will live on in our hearts forever.
