
Bobbie Douglas passed away peacefully on May 2, at the age of 80. He was born on August 26th, 1931 to his parents, Ernest and Mamie Douglas. In the 1960's, Bobbie met and married the love of his life, Gloria "Joy". Bobbie and Joy were happily married until her death, January 4, 2010. Throughout his entire life, work was a second nature. He worked hard to take care of his family, sometimes taking on two jobs. Bobbie worked at Massey-Ferguson for most of his working life. At Massey-Ferguson, Bobbie was a union representative vice-president business associate. He retired in the early 1980's. Once he retired, him and his wife, Joy owned Union 76 service station in Detroit. Bobbie's biggest pass time was being a Mason. He started out as a Mason, moved on to be a Shriner and eventually became part of the Scottish Rite fraternity. He was also a part of the Order of Eastern Star Auxiliary. Bobbie was the dearest father of Sheila (the late Clinnis) Thomas, Cheryl (Chuck) Ozbun, Bobby, Gloria (the late Roy) Leach, Brenda Lovelady, and Harold (Barb) Thacker. He also was the proud grandfather to 21, great-grandfather to 15, and great-great-grandfather to one. Visitation on Friday from 2:00 9:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods. Bobbie's funeral service will be held at 10 am on Saturday at the funeral home.
