

Carol Elaine Stapleton, age 82, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. She was a devoted sister, cherished aunt, and loyal friend, bringing joy to her nieces, nephews, family, and friends alike.
Known for her generosity, quick wit and infectious laugh, she was always eager to make those around her smile and share in joyful moments.
Carol shared a wonderful life with her long-time partner, who provided her with unwavering companionship and support. Together, they enjoyed travel and fine dining, creating cherished memories that enriched their lives.
A successful businesswoman, Carol pursued her education later in life, obtaining a college degree at Wayne State University and dedicating herself to her career. Once retired, she generously volunteered in her community, including tutoring kids and making a positive impact in their lives.
In her later years, Carol found great joy in spending time with her family and enjoying the beauty of Northern Michigan. She loved cooking, engaging in her favorite pastime of crossword puzzles, and nurturing her deep love for animals, especially her beloved cats.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Blossom Stapleton, and her brother Martin (wife Seiko). She is survived by her partner, John Pappas; her sister, Sharon Hotts (late husband Roger); and her brothers, Fred (wife Deborah) and Jim (wife Mary). Additionally, she leaves behind many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.
Carol will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
