Catherine Brady

Catherine Theresa Brady, age 91, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2019 with her daughters at her side. Kathleen was born on September 2, 1928 in County Leitrim, Ireland, the daughter of Thomas and Bridget (O’Rourke) Duffy. She was one of seven sisters and one brother who grew up in a traditional Irish Catholic home.

In 1955, Kathleen immigrated to the United States and soon after married the love of her life, George Brady who predeceased her in 1990. Together they were blessed with 34 years of marriage and 2 beautiful children Lillian and Maureen. Kathleen “Brady” spent over 40 years working at Georgian East Nursing Home until her retirement. She enjoyed watching the cooking channel and made many amazing meals. She was a woman of great faith and loved her family dearly.

Catherine is survived by her 2 loving children, her daughter Lillian and son-in-law David of Grosse Pointe Woods, her daughter Maureen and fiancé Patrick of Rochester Hills. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Christopher, Jason (Taylor), Lindsay, Allison, Stephen, Matthew, Jessica, Ryan, and Emily. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family in Ireland and England.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 27 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church (22412 Overlake, St Clair Shores, MI 48080). Following mass, Catherine will be brought to her final resting place beside her beloved husband at Resurrection Cemetery.
