Charles Cracchiolo

Charles Cracchiolo, a resident of Eastpointe, passed away on August 21, 2020 at the age of 88. A son of Pedro and Flavia (nee Moceri), he was born on September 26, 1931 in Terrasini, Sicily. Charles found his life's work in selling produce with "Charlie's Fruits and Vegetables." His business began with a small push cart and expanded to a blue truck, which he operated near Eastern Market. He retired after 63 years of passionate service. Charles married Antonia (nee Taormina) on January 17, 1959 in Terrasini, Sicily. They were joined in love for 61 years.

Beloved husband of Antonia. Loving father of Florence, Antonetta (William) Phillips, and Peter (Lisa). Cherished grandfather of Jason Rose, William Phillips, Grace, and Sofia. Treasured great-grandfather of Harrison and Lilyana Rose. Charles was preceded in death by his grandson Michael Rose, and his brothers, Gaspare and Giovan.

A visitation for Charles will take place on Tuesday, August 25th, from 2:00 to 9:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm at A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Woods, 48236. Charles will lie in state on Wednesday, August 26th, at 9:30 am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Bonaventure Monastery, 1740 Mt. Elliott St., Detroit, 48207. Charles will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.
