Charles A. Guy

Charles A. Guy M.D. 88, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 15, 2019. He was born in May 2, 1931 in Chuan Chow, Fukien, China. He migrated to the Philippines in 1937, then to the United States in 1972 and permanently lived in Grosse Pointe Woods for 46 years.

He received his degree in Doctor of Medicine at the University of the Philippines, Manila, Philippines in 1955. He had his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training between 1956-1961 in St. John Episcopal Hospital, Brooklyn, New York; Baltimore City Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland; Wayne State University, Detroit Receiving Hospital and Herman Kiefer Detroit, Michigan.

In 1958-1959 he resident in Pathology, South Sea Hospital, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.

He practiced at St. John Hospital, Cottage Hospital, and Beaumont Hospital for 25 years.

Charles was the beloved husband of Dorothy for 55 years. Over the years Charles and Dorothy traveled to China, South East Asia, Philippines, Europe, South America, Hong Kong, Japan, Greece, Antarctica, Russia and Baltic States.

He was predeceased by his only brother George. He is survived by his sister-in-law Deceng, nieces Athena (Chris), Ann (Alex) and nephew Karl, grandnieces Quinn, Darcy, Mia, grandnephew Lincoln.

He is loved and will be greatly missed.

Visitation for Charles at 9:30AM until the Celebration of Life service at 11:00 AM on Saturday December 21st at Crosspointe Christian Church, 21336 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods.
