Craig Thomas Koziara died peacefully at home on July 17, 2021. He was born in Detroit on January 9, 1953, the son of Edmund and Jennie (née Laskowski) Koziara. A lifelong resident of Eastpointe, Craig was a proud graduate of East Detroit High School. He loved cars of all kinds, muscle cars in particular, and could tell you the year, make, and model simply by looking at the head- or taillights. He worked in the automotive industry his whole career and retired from Chrysler after 26 years of service. Craig is survived by his wife, Cynthia Koziara; his sons Kyle Koziara (Bethany), and Keanen Koziara; siblings Diana Bill (Joe), and Dennis Koziara (Betty); nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by both parents. In accordance with Craig’s wishes cremation has taken place and no services are planned. He loved dogs, and gave many a loving home throughout his life. As such, donations may be made in his memory to the Michigan Animal Rescue League, a no-kill shelter serving the local community since 1953 who believes the quality of the wait for a forever home makes all the difference in the life of an animal. Craig never wanted a fuss but his tender heart would approve.
