

Daniel Leo Pierron February 1, 1929 - April 20, 2012 Of Grosse Pointe, Michigan. Born Detroit Michigan to Edith Helen Nicolay and Daniel Leo Pierron and the oldest of their four sons, Richard (deceased) Paul (Shirley) of Henderson, NV and Elk Rapids, MI and Frank (Marguerite) of Livonia, MI. He was a graduate of Alma College and the University of Detroit College of Dentistry. He served proudly in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1952 to 1954. He married Elsie Boldia in 1951 and they had three children; Suzanne (John Gilmore) of Bethesda, Maryland, Daniel (Rebecca Smithson) of Washington, DC and Timothy of Grosse Pointe. He was the beloved grandfather of Andrew and Madeline Pierron of Michigan and Barry and Corinna Gilmore of Bethesda, Maryland. Dan was active in several dental associations and instrumental in the early establishment of what would eventually become Dental Dental Plan of Michigan, dedicating his time and experience to ensuring that dental health care would be included in many major employer benefit plans. Dan was member of the Lochmoor Club where he was an avid golfer and tennis player and enjoyed the company of his many friends. Funeral Thursday 10:00 am at A.H. Peters, 20705 Mack Ave at Vernier Rd, Grosse Pointe Woods with visitation 1-9 on Wednesday.
