Dan the Man, as he was affectionately called, was a lover since birth. He was fortunate to meet the love of his life, Linda, in 1975, and asked for her hand in 1979. They spent 41 wonderful years in holy matrimony, and together, their love produced two intelligent and beautiful daughters, Audrey (Erik) Stephens and Rebecca (Dreux) Baker. Above all things in this world, Dan loved his family, and his favorites were his adored grandchildren, Javier “Javi†Daniel, Amaya Rose (Pup’s #1), and Sienna Grace.
Throughout his life, Dan accomplished many things that helped shape the caring and strong-willed person he was. At a young age, he showed an affinity for the arts and decided to become a metalsmith. He graduated from Cranbrook Academy of Art with a Masters of Fine Arts Degree in 1986. Dan was also known as the grill master in the family, and in his later years of life, he was working on becoming a “botanist†of sorts. He loved to ride his Harley up and down Lakeshore, manipulate metal in his home shop, and eat good food. But, one of his favorite activities was spending time with his grandchildren, and watching them flourish. He passed down his passion and talent for art to his oldest grandchild, Javi, his love for learning to Amaya, with all of the time they spent together reading books, and he adored watching Sienna Grace develop her small, but strong personality and dance moves.
Daniel Howard Pollard, age 67, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on the morning of August 11, 2020. He was a beloved husband, a cherished father and grandfather, a good friend to so many, and so much more. His memory will forever be with us all!
