Diane was born in 1946 in Detroit, Michigan, to Forrest Lowell Davis and Dorothy Lorraine Davis, nee Cosner. She spent her youth in Roseville, Michigan, graduating from Roseville High School. She attended the Wayne State University newly formed School of Nursing for several years before transitioning to the world of business. Starting as a Service Representative at Michigan Bell Telephone, during her 26 years with the telephone company she was promoted to positions of increasing responsibility, landing her dream job of Director of Public Relations in the 1980’s.
Diane was an avid gardener, with a special talent for design and selection of colorful plantings that surrounded her Grosse Pointe Woods home to the delight of passersby. Following in her mother’s footsteps, she shared this love by gifting flowers and sharing her knowledge with others. She also had a love of music, especially singing, and spent many romantic years accompanying her husband while he played the guitar. Later, she and Jim joined the Grosse Pointe Community Chorus where she served on the Board of Directors for 20 years, 18 years as its President. For five of those many years performing, she also shared the stage with her son.
Family history was important to Diane. She assumed the role of family historian, collecting documents, stories and photos which she readily shared with others. Christmas was her favorite holiday so she was often called “Christmas Carol”. Her home was filled with many cherished decorations that she had collected over a lifetime.
Diane is survived by James, her husband of 58 years, her son Moody Andrews (formerly known as Christopher James Andriotakis), grandchildren Thalia Grace Andrews and Theodore Raphael Andrews, sister Deborah Jean Worden (Steve), sisters-in-law Pamela Andriotakis-Gromadzki (Artur) and Tina Marie Andriotakis Heintz (Antoine) and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Assumption Greek Orthodox Church (St. Clair Shores, MI), or the Hellenic Museum of Michigan (Detroit).
Visitation will be held at A H Peters Funeral Home, located at 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI, 48236, on January 21, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
