"A bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck." That simple phrase and image define the Donna (Noni) Cooper legacy of life-long loving. Married to Jim (Papa) for 63 years and mother to four children, caring for them and their wellbeing was always Donnas first priority. She was a great organizer of family parties, lover of fun, and always concerned that her expansive buffets had everyones favorite food. Noni and Papa treated their grandchildren to birthday shopping and lunch at their favorite restaurants, and her made-to-order, tasty milkshakes were always a delight no matter what time of day! Beloved recipient of her familys 1978 "In Delicious Appreciation Sandwich Trophy," classmates of her children were often approached with offers of lunch swaps for Donnas artistic feasts. She had a flair for flower arrangements, home decorating, and hat crafting. She appreciated music and often played her favorite records on the family stereo. Gregarious, funny, and sweet with eyes that smiled an easily recognized welcome, strangers often opened up to her as she waited in grocery lines or conversed with her acquaintances wherever she went. Donnas Italian heritage was very evident when she greeted family and friends. A ready hug and kiss always made everyone feel loved and appreciated. She enjoyed her active participation in St. Joan of Arc Church and her decades of memberships in the ladies "Yack Yack" and St. Catherines clubs of friends and former classmates. Donna lives on in the hearts of those she loved. Donna is survived by her children, Kenneth (Christine), James (Daria), Lucie Ross (Richard), and Robert; her grandchildren, Aaron, Andy, Charlie (Katie), Kelly, Kimberly, Megan and Bradley. She was predeceased by husband James in August 2015. The family will receive friends on Sunday 2- 9 pm with a Scripture Service 7:00 pm at the A. H.
