Edward Leonard Boss

Boss, age 95, passed away at home on March 1, 2014. He was born in Detroit to Edson and Cecelia Boss in 1918. He graduated from Eastern High School where was an all-star in basketball, tennis, and swimming. He attended Valparaiso University before entering the U.S.Army to serve our country in World War II. He was stationed in Petersburg, VA. He took great pleasure in riding his Schwin bicycle while his daughter, Patti, and her dog jogged alongside. He enjoyed his four grandchildren, two great grandsons. Swimming, jet skiing, and building sand castles on the beach in Holland, MI were also favorite pastimes. He took great pride in baking bread to give to family and friends and enjoyed golfing and playing bridge. Ed was an accountant for Sun Oil Co for 35 years retiring in 1976, then continuing as a consultant to the company for another ten years. Mr. Boss is survived by two daughters, Sandra(Charles) Brown and Patti (George) Champane, grandchildren Heather (Shane) Wagner, Tricia Brown, James Champane and Edward Champane. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Marjorie Provo Boss. Interment was at Clinton Grove Mausoleum. A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 15, 2014 at St Paul Lutheran Church, 375 Lothrop, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI at 11:00. Visitation will follow.
